Coordinator, Mexican Film Festivals Network (RedMexFest)
A psychologist with a degree from the University of the Americas, Puebla. Iván Contreras was the director of Festival Internacional de Cine y Video Indígena “Mirando desde nuestra raíz" from 2011 to 2013. He was a founder-member and the current coordinator of the RedMexFest, in which over 100 festivals promote and distribute national cinema.
He is the director and film programmer of CINETEKTON! International Film and Architecture Festival, was a member of the programming team for the 7th FICUNAM Festival and has been part of the jury for festivals such as Macabro: Mexico City International Horror Film Festival; UnifilmFest: University Film Festival; Tlanchana Film and Digital Art Festival; Stuff Film Festival; DOCSMX; Cordoba International Film Festival and the All Lights India International Film Festival. From 2014 to 2018 he worked as manager and film programmer for CINEFILIA and SABER VER, cinema clubs of the Puebla Municipal Arts and Culture Institute.
