MIGUEL ÁNGEL MENDOZA BARRÓN

Miguel Ángel Mendoza Barrón is the founder and treasurer of the Latin America and Caribbean Itinerant Cinemas Network, which includes 16 countries. He is the executive producer of the features Vientos de Fuego en Tierra de Nubes, Asteroide and My Pen Is My Gun, as well as the film saga Capitanes de América, which tells the inspiring stories of Latin American soccer stars such as Diego Forlán, Martín Palermo and “Pibe” Valderrama, among others.
He is a Climate Leader for The Climate Reality Project. Between 2007 and 2013, he was head of Cine Morelos in Cuernavaca, and he created the initiatives Democratización y Descentralización del Cine, La Carreta Móvil and the Morelos Cinema Clubs Network. Additionally, he was general director of the Morelos Filming Commission.
Nowadays, he is head of Ecocinema México, an international communication platform based on film and environmental protection, with presence in seven Latin American countries. It promotes values, education, use of renewable energies, climate change awareness and culture, all based around the believe in social change through film.
