Promoter and Programmer
Founder and director of the San Francisco Latin Film Festival and Todos Santos Film Festival in Baja California Sur, Sylvia Perel has a Bachelor’s in Art History from the University of Buenos Aires.
Since 1981, she has promoted Iberoamerican culture and introduced Spanish and Latin American cinema in the San Francisco Bay Area (Berkeley, San Rafael, Larkspur, San Jose, Redwood City, Sacramento, Oakland and San Francisco).
She has been part of juries of other international film festivals in Mexico and across the globe. Sylvia is the Co-Artistic Director of the Festival du Cinema e Memoire Commune in Nador, Morocco, where her Latin American film selection won the most prestigious awards in 2019.
